Tipps for your application & FAQs

You’ve probably heard this many times before: ‘We are expecting your complete application.’ Here is what we mean by that and what we need from you.

  • Cover letter (clearly describe your motivation for the role you want. Refer to the server and describe in a few lines why you think you are the right person for this rank)
  • Experience gained (servers you have had the opportunity to work on, your personal experiences, etc.)
  • Concrete skills (describe your specific qualifications or training)
  • Very important: your contact details! Remember that we will contact you

Please note: it is not necessary to produce an application file with the elements listed above if you apply via our online application forms.

Cover letter

The cover letter should clearly state your motivation for the rank you would like to hold. Make a connection to our server and describe on no more than one DIN A4 page why you are exactly the right person for this position and what motivates you. The cover letter should be individual and not interchangeable. Make sure you use the right names and contact persons and indicate the possible starting date.

Please also make sure that your CV is clearly structured. It contains information about your personal details, i.e. your school education, your training and your professional career.

Supporting documents

The supporting documents in your application verify the information given in your cover letter and CV. Please make sure only to send documents relevant to the role you apply for.

A strong application is made up of several parts, which are put together in a specific order and consist of different documents.

Timing

Basically, of course, the earlier you apply, the better your chances of getting a job with us. And very important, one last tip: Please check your application documents for spelling and grammar mistakes.

For organisational reasons, we have set up a new general application collection system in order to facilitate upstream management of applications and drastically reduce processing times. It is therefore strongly recommended that you apply via the form provided for this purpose.

You can also apply directly on our Discord by opening a ticket via our Support.

What questions will I be asked at the interview?

The golden rule is that you should know yourself well first. During the interview you will be asked questions about your background and your goals. You should also think about questions such as:

  • What do you know about our server and Europa-Park?
  • What fields/departments are you interested in?

The mentions addressed will be:

  • General information about you (a brief presentation of you will be requested)
  • Your education (your training, diplomas and/or certificates obtained)
  • Your experiences (professional & personal)
  • Your experience with Minecraft (e.g. if you have worked on another Minecraft server)
  • Your interests (other than your passion for Europa-Park or our project)
  • The specificities of your profile (especially if you have an atypical disease and/or disorder, e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD or High Potential Individual
  • Your availability (including exam periods, holidays and other information that may affect your role)
  • The skills and talents that make you the ideal candidate (mastery of the Adobe package, eloquence, etc.)
  • Other knowledge (foreign languages, IT, etc.)
  • Other information you feel you need to know

Please note: our selection criteria are not based on any medical information that you may provide to us. However, if you have been diagnosed with a disease or disorder, we would be grateful if you could let us know so that we can make special arrangements for you. The medical information provided in the voice remains confidential and will only be communicated to members of the project management in accordance with our professional ethics.

In summary, it is important to inform yourself beforehand about the role you are aiming for and to be familiar with our project.

How long does the selection process take?

This varies from one department to another. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications, we are not able to give a response time for each application. As a rule, we process applications within one to two weeks of receipt.

If your application has been accepted, congratulations! You will soon be contacted by your contact person who will explain the procedure to you.

In accordance with the legal provisions on data protection, only persons authorised to handle the processing of personal data are permitted to view the stored data.

What should the online form contain?

Your application form should include the following elements/documents:

  • A presentation of yourself (succinct and clear)
  • Minecraft qualifications (e.g. thorough knowledge of block command and redstone systems)
  • Concrete qualifications (e.g. Adobe Photoshop training)
  • Your interests and other credentials (e.g. community involvement, etc.)

In order to increase your chances, it is essential to fill in as many fields as possible and to avoid spelling and grammatical errors as much as possible.

Why are you asking for so much personal data?

In order to guarantee equal opportunities and not to compromise the selection process, we are obliged to collect a minimum of information about the applicant. At no time do we ask for information that is not necessary for the processing of the field concerned. Please also note that the information entered in our forms is collected and stored for a minimum of one year on our servers before being anonymised and saved in our archives. For further information or to exercise your right to erasure, you can contact our data protection officer at legal@europapark-minecraft.eu.

I have been banned in the past, can I still try?

First of all, make sure that your application is well prepared. As a rule, we do not apply any criteria related to the applicant’s background. However, some departments require particular confidence, so the candidate’s background could be detrimental to the final decision.

Can I apply even though I don't have an official (uncracked) Minecraft account?

If you apply to us, having a Minecraft Java Edition Account is a prerequisite. However, exceptions can be made if your rank is for a role outside of the game.

If I get a negative answer, will my application file be kept?

Documents will only be deleted if you clearly state this in your file. If you do not stipulate this, the documents are kept for one year before being deleted by us.

Our teams do their best to process applications as quickly as possible. However, we only notify successful applicants. If after one month, and despite several reminders, your application is considered to have been declined. It is possible that your application will be put on hold, in which case we will inform you as soon as possible.
